The city of Tela is the most visit around the Honduras North Coast, it's located 92 Km. from San Pedro Sula, 96 from La Ceiba and 292 from Tegucigalpa.

This city built during the coming of the Spanish Conquers.

The name of the city was given by the establishment of a north american company dedicate to the production of bananas. The name of the company was Tela Railroad Company.

The development of this city divided the city itself in two main neighborhoods, Tela Nuevo and Tela Viejo. Tela have different hotels, bars and restaurants.

Around the city you are going to find many garifuna communities like Triunfo de la Cruz, La Ensenada, San Juan, Tornabé and Miami.

Tela also have natural and tourist place like Lancetilla, Jilamo, La Montañita, La Esperanza, Colprosumah, Pelican y Telamar.
